Floating Floor

Floating Floor

Our floating floor installation involves strict adherence to prerequisites like deck leveling within 5mm and surface treatment. Crews prepare with qualifications and PPE, then arrange fire-resistant panels with staggered joints and 10mm gaps filled with wool. Plates are welded with precision cuts and measures taken to flatten the ground for a seamless carpet overlay and cabin installation.

Floating Floor Laying Techniques and Specifications

Prerequisites before installation

  1. The deck must be leveled by fire workers and the surface flatness is not over 5mm/m2.
  2. The pre welded parts on the deck are welded
  3. Relevant works that require welding and gas cutting on the upper and lower sides of the deck, such as pipes and cables passing through the deck, should be completed
  4. Remove the sundries on the deck, the oil and rust and then perform anti-rust and anti-corrosion treatments.

Personnel and construction environment

The construction personnel should have relevant qualification certificates and wear protective work clothes during the operation with protective equipment such as gloves welding mask and masks The most suitable working environment temperature is 10c -25c. Corresponding mitigation measures should be provided if the temperature is not reached Good ventilation and lightning.

Construction tools and other appliances

Electric welding machine welding torch, welding grinder, jigsaw, utility knife, welding rod, welding mask, hammer, utility blade, jigsaw blade, tape measure, sandpaper, marker, rag, wooden racket, wiring socket and electrical tape

Installation steps

According to the requirements of the drawing, arrange the floating floor plates in an orderly staggered arrangement on the deck covering.

  1. The steel plate face up
  2. The heat insulation face down and
  3. The lap joints in the middle are stuck to each other.

Pay attention that direct contact is not allowed between the surrounding area and the steel wall, and a 10 millimeter gap should be reserved for filling with ceramic wool. When laying on the floating floor, notches should be opened to avoid the embedded parts on the steel deck. In addition, some devices that do not need to be installed on the ground can be fixed on the wall as required. If there is a large height difference between the floating floor block and the block due to the unevenness of the deck itself in laying the floating floor, the Rockwool can be appropriately cut locally to adjust the flatness. Adjust the plate to ensure the flatness in the room and add the adjusted plate seam which spacing of 250 – 300 millimeters and the length of the weld 30 millimeters. Weld the floating floors to ensure smooth welding. Clean the ground if deck dressing is not needed, directly lay the flame retardant carpet is allowed. If it is necessary to lay a layer of 4 to 10 millimeters thick fire-resistant decking dressing, the joints of the floating floor should be evenly coated with silica gel before laying, and scraped until it is smooth. The unevenness is required to be less than 3 millimeters

Installation of Cabin walls or other superstructures

Laying flame retardant carpet on the ground. Clean the floor, check the floor dressing, maintain the effect, and repair the floor if it is damaged Scrape the adhesive evenly on the ground, bond the composite carpet, install baseboards, moldings and other surface decorations.
